Becky Siekmeier

SciTech Internship Program Director

Becky Siekmeier is the director of the SciTech Internship Program at the Minnesota High Tech Association. She has directed SciTech since 2012, when she was brought on board to pilot the program.

Becky describes SciTech as sort of like a dating service, to connect college students with small and growing Minnesota companies and provide employers with a 50% wage match on their intern’s wages (up to $2,500). The program is funded by the State of Minnesota. Becky is an experienced team builder and project planner in both corporate and nonprofit settings. Prior to her position at MHTA, Becky spent nearly 17 years in advertising and in-store merchandising at Best Buy. Becky has an associate’s degree in advertising design, and two degrees from the University of Minnesota, a bachelor of arts in social welfare and a master’s in public affairs. As an undergrad, Becky competed for the Golden Gophers in women’s track and field. Becky and her husband enjoy the outdoors, following their son’s collegiate career (he’s also a Gopher T&F athlete), and road trips.
