Heritage STEM Academy is the only recognized STEM-focused high school in the Minneapolis Public School District, serving the largest East African and Somali student population. We need unique and dedicated resources to prepare these young scholars for STEM careers, which is why we are organizing the inaugural STEM Town Hall Roundtable discussion.

Our short-term goals for the roundtable are to engage experts, foster collaboration among educators, nonprofit community partners, and tech professionals, and have solution-focused discussions about the current needs of STEM graduates. We aim to identify targeted educational support that can help develop the essential skills of Heritage STEM Academy scholars, enabling them to pursue STEM career pathways. Our long-term goal is to see the rich diversity of our community reflected in STEM careers and our local business ecosystem.

We highly value your insights, expertise, ideas, and dedication to supporting the next generation of STEM talent. We invite you to join the conversation and positively impact the success of young people and the professional STEM community.

  • 12-1 PM: Networking and lunch
  • 1-1:45 PM: Panel discussion
  • 1:45-2:00 PM: Q&A
  • 2-3 PM: Group Workshop

We hope you will join the conversation and impact the success of young people and the professional STEM community.
