Creating Opportunities for Underrepresented Women
The Minnesota Technology Foundation proudly announces the recent launch of Accelerate, a special program that supports high school students who identify as women, genderqueer, or nonbinary to access paid summer internships and postsecondary scholarships.
The Foundation partners with the Minnesota Aspirations in Computing (MnAiC) program to offer these technology education and career development opportunities to eligible students who will receive invitations to apply for an internship and/or a scholarship based upon certain requirements beyond their gender identity, as noted below.

Internship Program Information
Eligibility
MnAiC Top-Tier honorees are those who place as state honorable mentions, state winners, national honorable mentions, and national winners. These types of honorees are eligible to apply for one of several paid summer technology internships offered by participating Minnesota businesses and organizations.
2026 Internship Application and Selection Timeline
- February 9 – 15: Internship opportunities communicated to eligible students
- February 22: Deadline for internship applications to be submitted
- March 9 – 27: Interviews with internship providers occur
- March 30 – April 3: Internship matches occur and are communicated to students and parents
- April 13 – 30: Internship recipients are publicly announced


Scholarship Program Information
Eligibility
MnAiC Rising Star recipients as well as state honorable mentions, state winners, national honorable mentions, and national winners who are currently seniors in high school are eligible to apply if invited to do so based on special factors such as first-generation college student, parent’s education levels, and other delineating features.
2026 Scholarship Application and Selection Timeline
- February 22: Survey opens for students to complete the online scholarship application
- March 8: Deadline for scholarship applications to be submitted
- March 10 – 27: Student interviews
- March 30 – April 3: Scholarship recipients are selected
- April 6 -10: Scholarship award information is communicated to students and parents
- April 13 – 30: Scholarship recipients are publicly announced
