This workshop involves a review of the skills needed to create effective resumes, cover letters, and a professional image. Two or three mock interviews will provide participants with valuable interview experience. This session is particularly beneficial for those applying for Accelerate summer 2026 paid internships or other professional work experiences.

This Mock Interviews and Confidence Building Workshop is designed for MnAiC Top-Tier honorees who are applying for a summer 2026 Accelerate internship or other summer employment. You’ll learn how to answer common interview questions, present your experiences with confidence, and make a strong first impression. Then, you’ll participate in practice interviews where you can test your answers in a supportive, low-pressure environment and receive helpful feedback. By the end of the day, you’ll feel more prepared, more confident, and ready to take on real interviews.
Note: Prior to the workshop, participants will upload their resume and a cover letter for a mock job posting that will be provided in advance of the workshop session (directions will be provided to registrants, as well as the zoom link to the event).

The Minnesota Aspirations in Computing (MnAiC) program seeks mock interviewers to help high school students prepare for summer paid internships or other employment. In partnership with the Minnesota Technology Foundation’s Accelerate program, all Top-Tier honorees who identify as women, genderqueer, or nonbinary are invited to participate in workshops to sharpen their job application and interview skills to acquire summer 2026 technology career employment. Access to honoree resumes and cover letters and other pertinent information will be provided to volunteers in advance of the mock interviews.
