Marketing Member Overview

Since 2012, Women Leading in Technology (WLiT) has operated under the umbrella of non-profit Minnesota Technology Association and is focused on promoting, educating, and empowering women in tech through our mission to Connect, Educate & Reach Back. One of the ways we achieve our goals is by hosting quarterly events. As we continue to emerge from Covid and adapt to our new hybrid world, we are more than ever focused on driving engagement with our broader WLiT community. We are ready to double-down on developing and deepening our digital connection to our community.

We have a successful brand and make an impact but know there is more we can do. Your insights will help us see how to share our story and successes differently to develop greater awareness, impact, and involvement. Your specific experience with measured impact in marketing, social media, and member engagement will help us connect more deeply with our WLiT community and drive greater attendance at quarterly events.

Thinking creatively, you will help generate and mature ideas that produce more opportunities for our members to grow individually and collectively, personally and professionally, through multiple forms of social media, blogging platforms, and so on.

Requirements include curious intellect, desire to learn, passion for technology and propensity for fun. Experience promoting events through social media forums, blogging, marketing campaigns and other creative platforms and doing so with measured impact is an absolute requirement for this critical member seat.

Secretary & Reach Back Member Overview

Since 2012, Women Leading in Technology has operated under the umbrella of non-profit Minnesota Technology Association and is focused on promoting, educating, and empowering women in tech through our mission to Connect, Educate & Reach Back.  One of the ways we achieve our goals is by hosting quarterly events. Other ways we make an impact is through our Scholarship and Reach Back functions.

We have a successful brand and a long-standing history of Reaching Back to support the next generation of technology professionals, leaders, and practitioners through our work with Minnesota Aspirations in Computing, Code Savvy & Technovation[MN], Genesys Works, UpTurnship, and more. As we seek to reimagine WLiT Reach Back, your passion, insights, and creativity will help set the stage for WLiT’s second decade of service.

As a new member, you’ll get up to speed on WLiT’s history of Reach Back and help generate ideas that further support our mission. Maybe we Reach Back more broadly? Maybe there are other groups with whom we might partner to further our efforts? Maybe we completely shake it up and think differently about how we, as a community, direct our Reach Back efforts. You’ll be surrounded by fellow board members who are eager to explore new perspectives and establish impactful, measurable goals to take these efforts forward. Performing in the role of Secretary, you’ll also be responsible for capturing monthly meeting minutes and member commitments, distributing to the board in a timely fashion, and preparing the monthly board meeting agendas.

Requirements include curious intellect, desire to learn, passion for technology, and propensity for fun. Must have specific experience with measured impact in supporting other women in technology, whether through your own company or through engagement with other organizations focused on that same goal. Attention to detail and timely follow through are critical to success.
