He will also illuminate the critical importance of changing the way we teach if we are to effectively prepare our students for the challenges of the new economy. He will challenge the audience to take action at the local, state, and national level to support our schools with the resources needed to ensure we remain competitive and leverage the potential for dramatic changes in how we teach.

Ron Huesman

Presentation Summary:
What is the value of a four-year degree? How can colleges demonstrate that what they offer is worth the effort and expense? Is it an equalizer for students from various socioeconomic, demographic, and geographic backgrounds? Attempting to answer this question was the challenge put forth by the University of MN and accepted by Ron Huesman and his colleagues. Ron will share his teams’ creative approach to leveraging disparate data sources to gather information across a longer time horizon to begin to develop a more valid perspective on the outcomes of a bachelor’s degree.
