Infrastructure/DevOps Peer Forum: Team Structure & Hiring

May 12, 2021
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Event Categories:

Virtual Celebration
MN United States

Please join your infrastructure and DevOps peers in a forum for discussing the evolution of infrastructure technology teams. Organizations are trying to move from an old-school support & operations companies to a self driven, automated environment. In light of this, how do we hire, train & upskill our teams to match the new world of infrastructure & operations?

Discussion includes (but it is not limited to) the following:

  • How are you finding the right talent? Do your new hires have the right engineering skillset and the right understanding of infrastructure?
  • How do you ensure that the hiring process can measure a candidate’s depth of experience through a quantifiable method?
  • What are the expectations for behaviors and skills for different team members?
  • How do you upskill the current team, ensuring they all have the right tools and knowledge for infrastructure/devops?
  • How do you set expectations for a Lead Engineer vs other engineers?

The first 15 minutes of the forum is driven by a thought leader from Target as they share their best practices related to a few of the topics above. The remaining 45 minutes is discussion driven and will be spent in small group breakout rooms so attendees can network, share best practices, ask questions, learn from each other and more. Attendees should come ready to share, learn, and contribute to the peer-to-peer discussion.

MnTech Infrastructure Peer Forums are quarterly educational forums, created by those working in the Infrastructure space for those working in the Infrastructure space. These afternoon events provide excellent networking opportunities as well candid discussions around technology issues, trends and challenges that are faced every day.
