MHTA — Minnesota companies raised $56 million in venture capital in the fourth quarter of 2016, according to data from PricewaterhouseCoopers and CB Insights. Total 2016 Venture Capital Investment reached $339 million.

Top industries for venture capital in Q4-2016 included:

  •     Healthcare: $37.5 million
  •     Software (non-internet/mobile): $16.5 million
  •     Internet: $2 million

Inspire Medical Systems led the way with a $37.5 million investment. MedNet raised $16.5 million, and TrackIF raised $2 million.
